Hypnotherapy for Anxiety

Anxiety affects the lives of many people on a daily basis. The symptoms vary from person to person and range from mild to severe. In extreme cases anxiety can limit a persons ability to carry out normal daily activities such as going to the supermarket, driving a car or even going out for a meal with family or friends. This makes the person think there is something wrong with them or that they are not normal.

The physical symptoms of anxiety can be very frightening and the person often ends up feeling isolated, lonely and worried that they have a serious medical condition. This results in what is known as the panic spiral. Anxiety sufferers start to worry about having another anxiety/panic attack so they start to avoid certain tasks and places as they believe they will have another attack if they do. They then become anxious about this and the panic spiral takes hold. It then appears that they are in a never ending anxious  state which they have no control over.

Here at Hawthorns we have developed a specialised programme which is based on tried and tested techniques to overcome and banish anxiety and panic disorders for good. The programme is scheduled over 5 sessions and consists of hypnotherapy and CBT. At the start of the programme you will learn what causes anxiety and how you can stop it before it takes hold. You will learn to understand and recognise the relationship between the conscious mind and the unconscious mind. You will be taught a range of coping strategies and you will learn how to change any negative thinking patterns that are contributing to your anxiety. You will be provided with MP3 recordings to listen to at home in between your sessions. You will also be asked to complete self help exercises to aid your progress.  By the end of your course of treatment you will understand your anxiety, it's triggers and how to stop it. This course is available through 1-1 sessions or as group therapy
